On the Diamond

A cinematic recap of the softball season:

On the Links

Ludvig Aberg, Baard Skogen, and Tim Wiedemeyer are all participating in The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale Golf Club across the pond. The men’s golf Twitter/X page is following along if you’d like to as well.

On the Hardwood

A Q&A with newcomer Cruz Davis:

What do you want to develop the most in your game?
“I want to keep developing as a leader. That’s something you can always grow in. Being a point guard, you are a leader on the court and can help control the game. I feel like my experience in the past will help me a lot this year. It’s my fifth year of college and I’ve been through a lot. I’ve seen a lot and have grown from it all. Everywhere I’ve been has made me a better player and person.”

What do you want your teammates and coaches to say about you?
“I want them to say that I’m always smiling and that I’m a happy guy. I’m competitive and want to win in everything we do. Basketball is a kid’s game and something we’ve all been doing all of our lives. This is every kid’s dream and I hope they see that I appreciate and know that. Bring joy to the game.”

Texas Tech basketball is giving you 30+ year-olds the opportunity to take part in a legacy camp. I’m sure it is a lot of behind the scenes stuff.

On the Gridiron

Lubbock Avalanche-Journal’s Nathan Giese asks who is Kirk Francis:

“Obviously I love them both,” center Sheridan Wilson said of Hammond and Francis. “Kirks’ a really cool dude, think he’s a good team player too. I’ve snapped to him several times. Just a great guy.”

Tight end Terrance Carter Jr. said Francis reminds him of Mitch Griffis, the Wake Forrest transfer who spent last year behind Hammond and starter Behren Morton in the quarterback rotation. Griffis was brought in to be a veteran presence on the roster to help the younger QBs without much expectation of playing time, similar to Francis.

Jalen Brewster released his official visit with Texas Tech video last night.
