Soccer

original-double-t Whaaaa? I really had no idea that the soccer team was going to sniff an NCAA Tournament spot, so this is great and surprising news for me. They will play Utah in Salt Lake City at 2:00 pm.

original-double-tLAJ’s Don Williams writes about how the Red Raiders are still looking for a solution(s) for the issues that ail the team at offensive line picking up Malik Jefferson throughout the game:

“We had some things that we needed to get picked up throughout the game, and we didn’t,” he said. “(We) allowed Jefferson to realliy wreak havoc the whole game. Lokoing back, we should’ve had some answers for that.”

And Kingsbury said that the coaches were aware of the Longhorns spying on Mahomes with Jefferson and this was Kingsbury’s response:

“It was addressed,” he said. “We just consistently didn’t get it fixed for whatever reason.”

This is the part that I don’t understand. It was addressed during the game and it wasn’t corrected? And why doesn’t it get fixed?

original-double-tLAJ’s Nicholas Talbot writes about how Kingsbury said that the team just hasn’t finished citing that a big factor is turnover margin:

“I think just really and truly, turnover margin,” Kingsbury said. “I think we needed to get some more throughout those first nine games, and we haven’t. I think we’ve won one game where we won the turnover margin, and that was Stephen F. Austin. When you consistently don’t win there, it’s hard to win in this league.”

Also addressed is quotes from Kingsbury where he said that all he can ask for from the defense is an opportunity at the end (I could ask for more, but that’s just me). Also addressed is the status of Devin Lauderdale, who apparently is about to get kicked off the team again saying that Lauderdale and Gary Moore not playing this past weekend was a coach’s decision.
