original-double-tRRS’s Matt Clare has a good interview with one of Texas Tech’s newest commits, McLane Carter, who talked about his visit this weekend and how he has three years to play three seasons:

“The visit was great, I was there with my Mom, my brother and his fiance,” Carter said. “We got there on Friday, settled into the hotel and then went out to eat with the coaches. It was Coach (Kliff) Kingsbury, Coach (Eric) Morris and my host for the weekend Derrick Willies. I really enjoyed sitting down to dinner and getting to know the coaches a lot more.

“The next morning, we woke up and had breakfast with the team. From there, we toured the campus and met with the academic advisors. They showed a ton of support towards the program and that was huge, especially for my Mom. After the tour, we went to the basketball game against Rice and it was awesome, just a really great atmosphere.”

There’s a lot more there, a lot more detail and how he talked with Patrick Mahomes about playing for Texas Tech.

original-double-t I don’t have time to link to all of this, but last night, it was leaked that Mike Gundy was rumored to interviewing with Baylor, yes, the Oklahoma State head coach maybe wants to interview with Baylor, probably for leverage, but still. There are also fans of the Oregon Ducks who wouldn’t mind interviewing Gundy and it seems like every other year Gundy and OSU are at odds. Additionally, there are are some outlets that report that Arkansas State’s head coach Blake Anderson is interviewing for the Baylor job, but others have said that he’s not. Also still in the mix is Sonny Dykes and I get wanting to get back to Texas, but the Baylor job seems like a bad place to just get back to Texas (I don’t know, maybe not). It’s also rumored that OSU’s defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer is interviewing at Georgia State, which would be a big deal.
