Stat of the Game | Shooting, man we were hot! The Red Raiders were making everything. Made 29-48 (60.4%), and from the outside had 10-19 (52.6%).

How the Game was Won | From the tip-off Texas Tech took it to Northwestern with overwhelming energy. The Red Raiders swarmed the ball on defense creating 17 turnovers in the game. Feet were moving, hands were flying, and Texas Tech looked sharp on both ends of the court. Shots were falling and Northwestern could not keep up. The Red Raiders never looked back, and won big time in this game on the national stage.

Turning Point | As soon as the whistle sounded at the start of the game the Red Raiders forced Northwestern to their limit. Defense, defense, defense. When Texas Tech went ahead in the first half 23-5, they never looked back.

Team Observations | This is a great welcoming party for Texas Tech to the college basketball world. We looked excellent on a nationally televised game against a Top 25 team, in the championship of the Naismith Hall of Fame Tournament. We knew how good this team was, and now the team knows that others will take notice. Let’s keep it going. Wreck ’em Tech!!!
