With that being said, Texas Tech lost this game on what was supposed to be an intentional walk by NiJaree Canady that Texas ended up hitting a 2-out single to take a 2-1 lead over Texas Tech. Canady said after the game that this loss was on her.
Game 2 is tonight, first pitch is at 7:00 p.m. and is on ESPN.

College Hoops Today’s Jon Rothstein was the first to report that Texas Tech and Illinois will start a home-and-home series with the first game in Champaign on November 11th and Illinois to visit Lubbock the next year. I love this move for Texas Tech.
