Spending That Stipend. DMN’s Chuck Carlton asked a handful of players at last week’s Big 12 Media Days how they would spend their extra stipend and you’ve already seen this quote, but Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury and the athletic department want student-athletes to make good choices as to how they spend that money:

Like many other schools, Tech plans programs to educate players about financial literacy, from budgeting to basic banking. He also wants to gauge the result from the first year and what could go wrong.

“My only concern is where are the funds going to go exactly?” Kingsbury said. “Are they going to go toward what we intend, which is food, housing, clothing, bettering their experience as a college student-athlete, and not on frivolous things?”

Big 12’s Best 15. FOX Sports’ David Ubben ranked the top 15 players of the Big 12 and Le’Raven Clark and Pete Robertson both make the list.

Visit Ronald McDonald House. LAJ’s Ellysa Gonzalez recaps a handful of players’ visit to the Ronald McDonald House Charities at Covenant Children’s Hospital, led by director of player development, Emmett Jones. Also found a couple of tweets for you to check out:
