Leading Off

The Texas Tech women’s team may be graduating a ton of talent, but they have the number three recruiting class in the nation, including Sydney Jones, Nell Miller, Olivia Peet and Denise-Antonela Stoica (TexasTech).

Texas Tech Baseball

The near-improbable happened as Duke beat Georgia twice, the first game 8-5 and the second game 8-4 (while in Athens) and because Georgia lost their regional, Texas Tech moves up and will now host Duke this weekend for the Super Regional.

Huge congrats as outfielder Grant Little was selected 74th overall by the San Diego Padres and is the highest Red Raider drafted since 2012 when Barrett Barnes was taken 45th (TexasTech). This all but assures that Little is headed to some minor league park to play ball and that’s a terrific thing for Little. You can expect Steven Ginger to get drafted to get drafted as well.

Texas Tech Basketball

Texas Tech will play the Memphis Tigers as part of the 2018 HoopHall Invitational on December 1st at the American Airlines Arena in Miami (TexasTech). Memphis has very much changed their profile since they let go of Tubby Smith and hired Penny Hardaway.

Texas Tech continues to look to add to their roster and former Northwestern comit Jordan Lathon seems to be a high priority as he will visit SMU and is working on a visit to Texas Tech (JonRothsteins @ Twitter). Lathon (6-4/175) is a 4-star point guard from Grandview, Missouri. The situation with Northwestern was strange in that NU announced that they were revoking his offer of admission with no explanation given.

Texas Tech Football
