InsideTheRedRaiders’ Zach Tanner was the first with the commitment of Roberson (Twitter) and InsideTheRedRaiders, who had this to say after the Oklahoma State game last year:

“The crowd was huge, first off. The crowd was amazing. If there were empty seats, you couldn’t see them. It was tremendous. My favorite part was seeing the players, I love watching those guys play. It’s truly amazing to see how, for me personally, these college athletes started from the same position I did, and you see where they are now. They have a lot of heart. Texas Tech is an amazing school and an amazing program, and I’ve always felt that way about them.”

So, Roberson is massive, just a load from his size and he’s just physically bigger than anyone on the field. It’s almost too much for those little guys, I start to feel sorry for the opposing defenders. Roberson’s biggest issue will be leverage, getting and staying low, but he could also block out the sun for a quarterback, which is great. There are some basketball highlights if you watch his Hudl highlights and he moves pretty well for a guy his size. Roberson’s other issue will be that Wellington appears to be a team that runs the heck out of the ball, almost no highlights of Roberson pass blocking, so technique will be an issue early most likely.
