Texas Tech Basketball: 2023-24 Eligibility Chart Version 7

Texas Tech is at 13!

Took a bit of time, but Texas Tech officially sits with a full roster after adding Arizona State forward/guard Devan Cambridge. I’ve added Cambridge in the forward position, but he’ll just play multiple spots and has more inside stats than outside. Last year, Cambridge averaged 9.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, while shooting 50% from the field and 33% from deep. I had not checked T-Rank to see what he and his teammate Warren Washington did last year at ASU. Cambridge is a high end player that does certain things really well, an eFG% of 56% is very good, a fierce offensive rebounder, and a good shooter inside the arc. Cambridge shooting 33% from deep is fine, but not a strength. In fact, Cambridge is really only a good close-range shooter, making 64% of his close-range 2-point shots, but only 41% of his far 2-point shots. I should note that there was another Cambridge on the ASU team last year, presumably his brother. Devan finishes at the rim and that seemed to be what a ton of those highlights were. That’s a helluva trait but if he can round out his game a bit, he’s got the size and athleticism to play professionally. I’ve got Cambridge as having just one year of eligibility left, but am not sure. Consider that a placeholder for now like I did with Jackson.

I mention that Texas Tech is completely full with 13 scholarships . . . but . . . apparently West Virginia guard Joe Toussaint (6-0/190) is visiting Texas Tech at the end of the week, which means that Toussaint might not be on scholarship (who knows with NIL now) or someone on scholarship would be leaving. Toussaint averaged 9.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists last year.

I also wanted to mention that Texas Tech appears to have a walk-on named Jack Francis from the Austin area. He’s been in a few highlights from the official site.
