On the Track

Texas Tech track & field is at nationals in Eugene, Oregon and you can check out results here, here, and here.

Texas Tech softball officially announced the signing of Mia Williams, Kaitlyn, Terry, and Jackie Lis. This SI article about how Texas Tech is using a loophole to recruit players, which is just non-staff members reaching out to players. Tennessee is claiming this is tampering and I am sure that most of you are thinking, “please cry me a river.” The SEC has been contacting and paying players forever. I’m not about to be concerned about things and I do believe these players are being contacted, but Texas Tech is absolutely playing by the rules in place. Saying it is a loophole is making it sound like cheating and the headline could have been, “Texas Tech takes advantage of opportunities.”

On the Gridiron

Lubbock Avalanche-Journal’s Don Williams with updates on the injuries that were part of the end of the year and spring. I honestly didn’t know about a bunch of these, which is fine, that doesn’t affect me all that much. There were a couple that I thought I’d mention. TE Trey Jackson had a torn meniscus and could have played in the spring game. He’s a full-go. OLB Terrell Tilmon had a broken toe and should be back in August. LB Justin Horne had a season-ending knee injury in November and will redshirt the entire year most likely. CB Macho Stevenson had a shoulder injury during spring practice, had surgery and should be back for camp.

On the Hardwood

Head coach Grant McCasland spoke to the media and I’m planning a breakdown that I’ll post on Monday. Feel free to watch.
