Eats & Bounds: Texas Tech v. Oklahoma

Norman, Oklahoma

I painstakingly reached out to every single person I could (on twitter) to come up with some new joints for you all to try, but I only had one taker.

Cole helped me out and recommended Tarahumara’s in Norman for some “pretty good Mexican food.” He also suggested that those of you brave enough should seek out the Caroline Reaper Pepper Burger at Miller Grill in Yukon.

Normally, I would mention Wes Welker’s Sports Bar & Grill in OKC, but it looks like it’s closed. Any boots on the ground who can confirm this?

TTU Alumni Pre-Game Party

All Texas Tech fans traveling to Norman for the Oklahoma game are welcome to join us for a pregame party at 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 24 at Chimy’s. The event is free to all Red Raiders, while food and drink will be dutch treat. The Chimy’s in Norman is located one block north of the campus in the Campus Corner area.

Lubbock BBQ Video

Thanks to 24 Frames and KTTZ, we now can learn a bit more about the pit masters behind Tom & Bingo’s, The Shack, and Evie Mae’s. I may sound like a broken record talking about our revitalized local BBQ, and I can live with that. Check out the video for some behind the scene tips and some glorious high-def brisket. Also, Evie Mae’s was added to Texas Monthly’s list of Top 25 New and Improved BBQ Joints in Texas. Not only was their name added, but that’s a picture of their food on the left page.
