We were in Bryan this weekend for the UA Future Southwest Regional for Youssouf where he averaged 18 points, 9.5 rebounds (3.75 offensive boards), 3.75 assists, and 4 steals over 4 games. This led the team in all of those categories. I also ran 5 miles both Saturday and Sunday with Fitsum, he always makes me run faster than I want to.

The Women’s College World Series bracket is set with Texas Tech and Mississippi State leading things off on Thursday, May 28th at 11:00 a.m. CST on ESPN. The winner goes on to play the winner of Tennessee and Texas, while the loser of each matchup will play the lower in the loser side of the bracket.
Red Raider Sports’ Jarrett Ramirez transcribed the audio from Jason Williams on Instagram (if you’d like to listen, the reel is right here and I don’t know why Ramirez didn’t link to it. As a reminder, Jason is the father of Mia Williams, both former Florida Gators:
“As you can see, I’ve been doing a lot of hollering this past weekend,” Williams said as part of his ‘Hoopin’ N Hollerin’ podcast. “I had an eventful weekend. My daughter did her thing. The whole team did their thing. But especially proud of my daughter going back to Florida and doing her thing. Going through the s— she went through this past weekend. If you guys watched the game, you know what time it is. You guys see how them Florida Gators acted at the end of the game. They didn’t really want to shake hands, really didn’t want to do none of that. The crowd tried to get me ejected, this that and the third.”
Double-T 97.3’s Jamie Lent asks what should we expect from Texas Tech baseball this summer. I always appreciate Lent’s thoughts on the baseball team.

ESPN’s Bill Connelly writes about the 24-team college football playoff and he’s not in favor of it. I think this is a good discussion about why he doesn’t think the 24-team playoff works and one of the main reasons is that he doesn’t want to get rid of conference championship games. I disagree with the idea of keeping conference championship games, they are and will likely be meaningless, although Connelly advocates for a flex-week and everyone plays a 13th game. That still doesn’t do it for me (I haven’t thought a ton about logistics and Connelly obviously has) and for football, I’m find just getting to the playoffs after the last conference game. Also, this was written before SEC’s Commissioner Greg Sankey made his comments about the playoffs yesterday. Like a lot of you, I’m not terribly interested in Sankey’s thoughts on college football, but I am interested in other points of view that are different than mine.
Connelly also writes about the American Conference and this has nothing to do with Texas Tech, but it’s sort of like reading a conference preview magazine, but better content. Also, Zach Kittley is at Florida Atlantic they are in the American.
